about

I have a lot of dreams. most of them not great, most of them confusing, and most of them I forget almost instantly. but this one stuck with me. a dream about someone I didn't know, named Alicya.

I did, quite literally, write the majority of the lyrics for this song at 5 am, directly after I woke up from my dream. bringing it to the band to flesh out is always a treat. This was one of the first songs the band had full say in how it sounded and made it the angsty, power ballad that it is.

lyrics

staring at my ceiling, it’s 5am
I awoke from a dream, where you were still with me
i lost my concentration , everything was faded
i’m driving down a one way, Away from everything

it’s probably too late for sorry anyway.

Well everybody says, I’m over my head
I could take it all back, But I’m not there yet
So i keep digging down this hole, The further in I go,
I’m losing sight, Of whatever was there last night

Oh Alicya how does he treat ya
it’s probably too late for sorry anyway.
Oh Alicya i’d let you have him
But i’m desperately hanging on to someday

All the mistakes I ever made
Played out before me
Like some fucked up memory
You’re still with him, I’m just spinning
As I start losing grip
It’s all I can see

Oh Alicya how does he treat ya
it’s probably too late for sorry anyway.
Oh Alicya i’d let you have him
But i’m desperately hanging on to someday

Desperately Hanging on
Maybe it’s too late
I’m desperately hanging on to someday
But maybe it's just too late

staring at my ceiling, it’s 5am
I awoke from a dream, where you were still with me i lost my concentration

about

Hello Delaware Halifax, Nova Scotia

Hello Delaware blow apart the quietness with their bombastic glam punk pop. Frontwoman Dana Beeler uses her body as a weapon on stage, whilst the band swing from The Big Moon-like power chords to sludgy, Lommi riffage. The band will win fans wherever they go, their presence as memorable as their hooks. (Max Pilley, Under The Radar Magazine, UK) ... more
